The Girls' Room...

When we found out we were expecting this cutie...

...we knew we were going to have to do something about the bedroom situation. All of our 4 bedrooms were full, so we decided to convert my scrapbooking/craft room in the basement into a bedroom for the girls and put the baby in the girls' old room. Last fall, I shared photos of the new nursery, but I didn't yet reveal Shana and Malia's room. It is finally finished, so here are some work-in-progress and finished photos:

I'm thankful Chris is so handy...he built the closets/cabinets, along with a huge closet in the main basement room for all my crafting stuff. He will also build bookshelves around the new egress window we just had installed, along with another closet for all of the toys and Ethiopian items/donations. Next up is a bathroom for the girls, which will be located in the old toy room. Anyway, back to the photos...

Shana stained all the boards for her 2 pallet walls, and then I gray-washed them and added some white paint to make them look distressed.

And here is the finished product:

That's all for now! See you again soon!

Catching Up With Quintin...

Quintin is growing and changing quickly, as all babies do. I wanted to post some pictures of him from the past month in our scrapbook, so we can one day look back and remember just how little, cute, and cuddly he was!

I love this pic of him looking up at me!

Malia's favorite pastime is her baby brother. She's another little mother to him!

I am so in love with this little guy, and his messy hair and cowlick just add to the cuteness!

Orange Beach, Alabama

For Christmas, we decided to surprise the kids with a trip south instead of buying lots of presents. The day after Christmas, we packed up and headed out to Illinois to see Grandma Ehnle for the weekend. From there, we went to Orange Beach, Alabama, and Chris's parents went with us. We had a great week!
