Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Our first major stop on our trip out west was Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. We had fun exploring and spotting lots of bison, prairie dogs, wild horses, mule deer, turkeys, and pronghorn. We also saw 4 or 5 rainbows! I got to cross another state off my list, so now I only have 3 more to visit: Hawaii, Washington, and Rhode Island.

Goodbye, Buddy…

Since the twins have their permits and we have to get 100 hours of drive time in before they can get their licenses, we planned a trip out west to help them accomplish this goal. Chris, Malia, Jalen, Jordan, Quintin, and I had only been gone for several hours on our 11-day, 2 country, and 12-state trip when we found out that our beloved Maverick had been killed. 😭 Ashton, who was at home, went and picked him up, brought him home, and buried him. The rest of us cried all the way to Beloit, Wisconsin.

We will miss you, Maverick! You were such a good boy, and home just won’t be the same without you. ❤️

Maverick, right after we got him in the fall of 2020:

He was the cutest and most playful Norwegian Elkhound/German Shepherd/Husky that ever lived.

Goodbye, Buddy. Thanks for being such a good friend over the years.
