This is what a valiant soldier looks like. He may not have been strong physically and he never would have hurt a flea. But spiritually? He fought to the very last to bring forth the Word…his Jesus…to a broken and weary world.
He was there for all the important events in my life: my high school graduation, college experience (I even lived with David and Larisa for a year,) baptism, engagement, wedding, raising my children, our adoption, vacations, and holidays. We had lots of great conversations and lots of good coffee, always prepared by him.
Our Dear David (Dah-veed, Don Weed,)
We will miss you dreadfully. We will miss the smirks, smiles, hugs, walks, talks, advice, nicknames, games, coffee, and the way you could make us laugh at everything. We will miss your random, hilarious comments thrown sporadically into the midst of our family texts. We will miss your quiet, knowledgeable way of studying and quoting scripture and your amazing sermons. We will miss the way you loved your family so well. Your “spot” on our couch will be empty this Christmas, but your legacy will live on indefinitely. Thank you so much for being such a good brother. We are so thankful that you are HOME and HEALED and FREE. See you again soon.
Love,
Bruce
