Chris and Neil are currently in Ethiopia to fix a few bugs with the plastics recycling facility near the Korah trash dump. The recycling plant has been up and running since the beginning of August, praise the Lord! Now people are able to pick through the trash for plastic bottles to recycle, take them to a collection point, get paid money for doing so, and then use the money to buy food rather than scavenging through the trash for food. 🙌🏽
It is currently the holiday of Meskel, the Feast of the Cross, and last night they were able to go to Meskel Square and help light the huge bonfire and participate in the celebrations! Today, they got to spend time with our sponsored girls/families and took a tour of Korah. The first two photos are inside and outside the home of some of our friends there. It is the rainy season, and a trash slide has prevented the water from flowing like it should. Please pray for these dear people!

Malia and I attended a benefit dinner for International House. What a wonderful organization that helps so many refugee families in the Fort Wayne area! It was a very inspiring evening.

Q is having a successful flag football season…
Chris and I attended the annual Grafted Gathering adoption/foster care conference, and had a great time. I didn’t get any photos at the conference, but we did enjoy some Korean BBQ the night before.
Finally finished the deck!
A peaceful evening:
The boys’ football team is doing tremendous this year. They are currently 5-0 in the season, and 3 of the teams did not even score against them. Tonight they will play one of the toughest teams in the area (in the rain.) Jalen decided to learn how to kick field goals, and is the first field goal kicker that the team has had in many, many years. Last game, he hit 5 for 5…great job, Jalen! Jordan is finally coming back to play after a sprained ankle. Thanks to everyone who captured the following photos.
