Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Don't you think he would feel honored to know that such cute children all over the globe are celebrating his birthday today?

Also, in honor of Dr. Seuss's special day, here's something that I wrote a couple of years ago when I was very bored (and I think you'll definitely be able to tell I was bored):

Have you ever wished that your name was Lil’ Whim?
Or Harry the Cherry or Slim Slam the Flim?
Have you ever wanted to be Solly O’Duff?
Or Hippy Hop Hurry or Polly the Zuff?

Fluffy the Pluffy the Blim Blom the Splatt,
I think ‘twould be neat to be named such as that.
Or Percival Pennyworth, Paully the Badden,
Or Ralphy the Rumpus or Great Bean McSpadden.

I kind of feel sorry for people named Ted
Or Tommy or Bobby or Billy or Fred.
I like all the names that are fancier than these,
Like Horace the Boris or Fatty McSneeze.

Or Hoopen Hop Jezbell or Bliddy McSmelly,
Or Tonsil Toe Greenburg or Blossom On Belly.
If you want to be named Chris, Tim, Doug, Jim or Lee,
You can choose your own name and that’s quite fine with me.

But I think I’ll change my name to something more fun,
Like Hoofer the Biffer Buff Boff with a Bun.

Oh dear, am I really going to post this and embarrass myself in front of the whole world? OK, not the whole world - probably only my mom and sister. Hi guys! And I know you've already heard this before, so I'm safe.....

  1. That certainly sounds like a Dr. Seuss story!! Love it! Kind of like the story "23 Daves". Still one of my favorites! Come on, Eureka, draw some pics to go with it, and make it into a child's book! It could help fund your adoption!

  4. Gasp...did you just actually let people other than immediate family know what you're really like?? A truly rude awakening for some, I'm sure!
I do think this is terribly cute, as I've told you before, and it is SO YOU!!!!
