We arrived in Frankfurt at about 8:00 this morning. We had a 4-hour layover, in which I tried to get some sleep. However, it didn't exactly work out like I had hoped! We then climbed aboard another plane for a long, but uneventful flight to Addis Ababa. When we got there, we had to wait in the visa and customs lines for about 2 hours. We visited with several other families that were there on work teams or were adopting through other agencies. We finally made it through and collected our bags - they all made it!! Yay!
Addis Ababa Airport
We walked out the doors and found a man holding a sign with our names on it. The poor guy had been waiting on us for 2 hours! We loaded everything into his van, headed to the Riviera International Hotel, and checked into good ol' room #706 (same suite as last time). After buying some bottled water and taking all of our luggage to our room, we came back to the lobby to check e-mails and send a message to our families that we had made it ok. We also received a schedule for the week that said we were to be reunited with our boys at 10:00 in the morning!
Back in our room, we organized the clothes, gifts and other items to take to Hannah's Hope in the morning. Exhausted but excited, we got to bed around 1:00 a.m. Tomorrow (or later today, rather) is Gotcha Day!
