Our Trip to Ethiopia, Day 8

Friday, June 17, 2016

Today, we made the long, bumpy, beautiful drive to Samre for AGCI sponsorship distribution day. AGCI has about 80 children from this area in their sponsorship program, and our job was to give them their quarterly funds for school, take their photos, update their profiles, and give them food and clothing. We were extremely excited to meet Berhe, our sponsored child, and a girl that Chris's parents sponsor.

When we first arrived, we were ushered into an office for a coffee ceremony.

Our sponsored son, Berhe. Isn't he so handsome? I'm thankful we were able to give him a backpack filled with goodies.

And here's the girl that Chris's parents sponsor:

When we arrived back in Mekele, Chris went to the police station to get his phone back. He got to ride in the back of the police truck where the criminals ride, and the police officer told Chris that he was family now, and they would have to get together whenever we come back to Mekele.

Wass took a ride, too.

Here is the police report. The only thing legible is Chris's printed name. His signature isn't even legible, but that's not unusual. ;-)

This desk clerk at the hotel LOVED Quintin, and had to talk to him and play with him every chance he got. :-)

Tomorrow, we fly back to Addis!
