Our Trip to Ethiopia, Day 4

Today is Quintin’s 9th birthday! I’m sad that I can’t be there to celebrate with him, but we celebrated early last month by taking him to the Magic Kingdom. Chris will give him a gift and take him out to eat with other family members tonight. 

I thought this was an interesting perspective. This is $200 in USD vs. Ethiopian birr. All bills are 100s. 

This morning, we ate breakfast, had devotions, and then headed to Korah. We purchased food in bulk for 100 families, and spent the rest of the morning repackaging it into smaller bundles that would feed each family for a month. 

In the afternoon, we took a break and played with rocket balloons we had brought. Some of the adults were even more intrigued than the kids, and everyone had fun blowing them up and chasing them. We had interesting conversations with members of the community as well. 

We walked into the trash dump community and met both Malia’s and Daniel and Shana’s sponsored families. 

Back at the guest house, we ate dinner and then Hiwot braided the girls’ hair.
