Our Trip to Ethiopia, Day 5

 Tuesday, November 26, 2024

Susanna and Joanna joined us for the day’s activities, so they came to our guest house this morning after breakfast. We did devotions and then headed to Korah. We distributed food, rent money, diapers, formula, clothing, and medicine and visited some homes in Korah. Tesfaye had me give a message to the people who came for distribution, and he translated. We also went to the leper hospital and the Kibir offices at the SIM missionary compound before eating at Chanoly Noodle with friends. This evening, we marked specific chapters in the Bibles we plan to hand out tomorrow and played games at our guest house with friends from Korah.

Love these boys! Little Tesfaye, Mulu, Israel, and Jordan:

Some of my girls also joined us for the day.

The vultures that fly above the trash dump are the size of people. I have never seen such huge birds.

Many homes were recently flooded during the rainy season. The homes pictured below were completely covered with water, and some of our family’s sponsored families had to move to higher ground. The water has receded in recent days, but there was still standing water filled with trash.

This man is a leper and doesn’t have much of his fingers left. But he makes the most beautiful rugs and is so full of joy!
