Our Trip to Ethiopia, Day 8

 Thursday, July 7, 2022

This morning, Russell, Chris, Vickie, Shana, Darci, and Pastor Omod went back to the SIM compound to meet with Kibir about the farm project. Mathewos came to the guest house and dropped off his daughter, Helen, so she could spend the day with us. The rest of us left the guest house a bit later and stopped at AGCI's office and Mimi's coffee shop before picking up the rest of the group at SIM and heading to Entoto Park for the day.

Our friend Mimi, Wass's wife, makes the best coffee!

On the way to Entoto, we stopped at Kechene to see H one more time and give her a gift. Then we picked up some more relatives of the twins who live in Addis: a first cousin of Ariet and a cousin of Omod named Larry. We spent the day in the eucalyptus forest of Entoto Park, where most of the group completed a ropes obstacle course and went ziplining. The rest of us enjoyed hiking and breathing in the fresh, eucalyptus-scented air. The day started out very foggy but turned bright and sunshiny in the afternoon.

We had a delicious lunch at Entoto Park's Kariftu Restaurant.

In the early evening, we got back to the guest house, where we enjoyed dinner and a relaxing evening.
