This morning, we participated in missional business training at Mekane Yesus church with Kibir Ministries. They served us tea and snacks outside, and then we visited Jalen and Jordan's birth family's current residence. Many family members and friends were there to welcome us. We enjoyed a traditional meal and exchanged gifts before driving to Abobo to see the family farm, Uncle Russell's farm plot from last year, and the dam. Back in Gambella town, we visited our friend Omod's home and family. He had just finished telling us about recent conflicts between the tribes when we heard gunshots in the distance. He insisted that we get back to our hotel immediately. Our driver drove very aggressively back through town. It's hard to imagine what these people have to live with every day. We ate dinner at the hotel (Chris brought pizza and fries to the room for us) and went to bed.
